Hi, I’m Megan, your branded content BFF!

I’m a content strategist, writer, and editor with 15 years of experience in journalism and content marketing.

I help in-house B2C editorial teams, founders & micro agencies build content ecosystems that foster brand affinity and earn audience trust.

Consider me your content emergency contact — I’m here to support you, whether you need help writing a blog post or devising a holistic GTM content strategy.

Over the course of my 15+ year career, I’ve played nearly every editorial role on a content team:

  • Journalist

  • Writer

  • Copy editor

  • Proofreader

  • Social media manager

  • Developmental editor

  • Managing editor

  • Editorial director

  • Strategic content director

As a solo editorial consultant and contributor, I’ve found that I love jumping into teams and playing different parts to produce stellar content.

You know that white paper you’ve got saved on your desktop?

The one you know can be the source for tons of great social content, blogs, newsletters, sales collateral, webinars? All that content you never have time to create? Toss it to me!

Maybe you’re still in the “piles of raw data that needs a shape and a marketing purpose” phase. Gimme that, too, and I can turn it into a fantastic resource for your team.

Or it’s as simple as this: you need an assignment finished yesterday, and no one on your team has the bandwidth to knock it out. *Raises hand.* Consider it done.

Here’s what I can do for your team:

  • Create a custom content strategy for your brand, complete with recommended platforms, content pillars, tone of voice and style guide, and an editorial calendar

  • Conduct in-depth interviews with SMEs, clients, or company VIPs and produce compelling profiles and articles. I can also find the sources you need if you don’t know who to feature

  • Turn a transcript or raw data into social content, blogs, emails, sales materials, etc.

  • Wrangle all the parts of your content process into a cohesive, repeatable system that will save your team time and create efficiencies

  • Pitch content plans directly to clients, or create dynamic, needle-moving presentation decks and coach you on delivery

  • Complete a content and SEO audit and update your existing content to maximize its reach and impact, while suggesting additions to make your catalogue even stronger

  • Help leaders and execs find their own voice on social media that ultimately supports your brand marketing as well as their personal brands

  • Edit any copy to be sharper, clearer, cleaner and more brand-aligned

FAQ

FAQ 〰️

Why work with you rather than a creative staffing agency?

I’ve worn many hats and can cover a wide range of editorial roles, so you don’t need to find specialists for everything.

Plus, when you hire from an agency, the $150/hour rate you pay doesn’t get you $150/hour talent. Spend your budget on hiring someone with over a decade of experience, not on agency markup.

I’m also not looking for a full-time role — I’m committed to my own business. So you don’t have to worry about me jumping ship for a job offer elsewhere, or face a fee from an agency to hire me long-term.

Why do you only work with “micro agencies”?

I prefer to work with small operations where the founders are doing the work. I specialize in supporting content marketing solopreneurs and tiny agency owners when they need an extra pair of hands they can trust with client work.

My goal is to allow you to say “yes” to that new client you’re not sure you have time for, because you know you can subcontract to me with peace of mind that I’ll maintain the highest quality and professional standards.

I’m happy to work behind the scenes of an NDA, or join you for client meetings and direct collaboration.

How do you work with founders?

I help founders define and articulate their personal brand so they can show up authentically and support their company’s mission, particularly with LinkedIn and newsletters.

I’ve built a proprietary (and fun!) onboarding process that helps me get to know you and your goals. From there, I craft a content strategy for you. We co-create content on a regular basis, or I offer ghostwriting, monthly planning and real-time editing sessions, and personal content calendar development.

Whis it like to work with you?

I have over 15 years of editorial experience across journalism and content marketing. My specialties are B2C branded content for considered purchase brands and brands with a social mission, and helping people tell their personal stories, whether that’s through a LinkedIn posting strategy or a personal essay about the time you broke both of your arms (just me?).

My editing style is collaborative and incisive; I will cut your copy to the bone if necessary, but with an open mind and a lot of questions. My goal is always to get YOUR voice to shine through, unencumbered by throat-clearing and excessive adverbs, as clear on the page as it is in your head.

And look, not to brag, but I’m fun to work with, brimming with ideas, and really jazzed about creating the best possible content for your audience.

What are your rates?

Such a great question! Of course, it depends on factors such as:

  • Project complexity

  • Timeline

  • One-time vs. ongoing

I prefer to work on per-project or retainer rates, rather than hourly, so I can’t give an estimate without the details of your project. Here are a few ballpark examples:

  • Editing single article: $200

  • Full content strategy including blog, social & website copy outlines/calendar: $2,000

  • Writing: $1/word or $1000 an article

  • Content refresh, updating for SEO, links and current data: $500 per blog post or page

  • White paper or industry report based on original research: $3,000-5,000

I am always happy to negotiate on scope and work within your budget, but I include sample rates here to give you an idea before you reach out. I value transparency!
